Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated and experienced Security Engineer/Architect Role to join one of our client companies. As a Security Engineer, your focus will be on solutions and tools like Microsoft 365/Azure, Defender, Sentinel, etc.
You will be tasked with identifying security risks, defining security requirements, and developing and implementing appropriate security controls. You will also be responsible for staying up to date on the latest cybersecurity technologies, standards, and best practices and recommending innovative solutions that improve security posture and enable business agility.
That said, you’ll work on cross-functional teams that include developers, site reliability engineers, and cloud admins. Furthermore, in addition to your primary responsibilities, you will be in charge of mentoring the less seasoned team members.
The successful candidate will also be a self-motivated individual who can work independently without strict supervision and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.
Required SkillsQualifications/Education:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology as its major coursework.
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft 365 (M365) suite, Azure services, Defender, and Sentinel.
- Extensive experience configuring security controls in M365 and Azure.
- Proven track record designing and managing custom security solutions.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Proficient in conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration tests, etc.
- Skilled in incident response i.e. threat detection, containment, eradication, recovery, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud-native security concepts and technologies.
- Ability to analyze security data and develop actionable insights to enhance overall security.
- Experience creating/maintaining security documentation and procedures.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Time management and multitasking skills to effectively meet deadlines under time-to-market pressure.

Responsibilities of the Desired Security Engineer/Architect:
- Delivers subject matter expertise in Cybersecurity.
- Develop/implement security strategies and procedures to strengthen M365, Azure, and associated assets.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
- Monitor security events and alerts within Defender and Sentinel.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate security controls into SDLC.
- Design/deploy security solutions like MFA, encryption, access controls, etc.
- Manage security configurations and access controls for M365 and Azure environments.
- Guide IT and business teams on security best practices.
- Lead incident response efforts to mitigate security breaches.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security awareness training and education sessions.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of security tools and technologies.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Maintain documentation related to security architecture and incident response.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
