Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced DNS Migration Architect. This role would focus on designing the strategy and overall architecture for migrating DNS services from BlueCat to Azure. This person would outline the final state of the DNS infrastructure in Azure, including considerations for both internal and external DNS configurations.
In addition to migration planning and execution, the DNS Migration Architect will collaborate closely with other IT departments to ensure that all aspects of the DNS services are fully integrated with their existing systems. This would be very important in a joint effort to maintain network integrity and ensure that the current and future needs of the organization are met.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Network Security, or Network Architecture as its major coursework.
- Experience in planning, designing, and implementing the DNS Infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Azure DNS and how it integrates with other Azure services.
- Working knowledge of BlueCat DNS or any other DNS management platform.
- An excellent comprehension of the way the DNS works both internally and externally.
- Design scalable, secure DNS architectures.
- Experience in IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experienced in load balancing.
- Migrated services from an on-premises environment to a cloud environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and is detail-oriented.
- Possesses solid project management skills and an ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Any additional qualification or certification in Azure or any other cloud technology will be a plus.
- Understand the compliance and security standards for DNS in the cloud service.
- You can document and diagram DNS solutions using industry-standard tools.
- Practice and experience in automation and scripting to make the operation of the DNS easier.
- Sound conversational and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities of the DNS Migration Architect:
- Develop an end-to-end migration strategy from the BlueCat DNS to Azure DNS.
- Review the current DNS configuration for a friendly transition.
- Formulate solutions that comply with both technical and business requirements.
- Work with IT and Network teams to better align DNS strategies with the greater network architecture.
- Ensure that this new DNS infrastructure is easily scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance through the process of migration.
- Monitor the progress of migration and make any changes to plans as necessary in view of some plans that might be difficult.
- This would involve testing to ensure that the internal and external setups of the DNS are working properly.
- Document everything pertaining to the DNS migration process: architectural designs, settings, and configurations.
- Set and manage stakeholder expectations, but also communicate progress throughout the project.
- Optimize DNS performance to ensure the new systems are running efficiently post-migration.
- Troubleshoot any DNS problems that arise at this and post-migration stage.
- Keep an eye on the latest trends in DNS technology and Azure service.
- Prepare and present briefings that explain the architectures of DNS to those unfamiliar with the material.
- Would be the point of contact for all DNS-related questions and support within the Organization.
