Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced Public Key Infrastructure PKI Engineer Role to join one of our valued clients. Your core responsibilities for this role include designing, implementing, and maintaining the client’s public key infrastructure (PKI) system. As a PKI Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital certificates and cryptographic keys used by the organization.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess their requirements, develop comprehensive solutions, and provide technical expertise throughout the implementation process. That said, you will monitor the system performance, troubleshoot issues, and give advice on how to optimize their PKI system
To deserve this role, you should have a deep understanding of PKI concepts, cryptographic protocols, and industry best practices. Proficiency in designing and deploying PKI infrastructure, certificate authorities, and certificate lifecycle management is essential. You should be comfortable working with various PKI technologies, such as X.509 certificates, or any other technology. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in the PKI system.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- Demonstrated expertise in integrating Active Directory for seamless auto-renewal & enrollment.
- Proficient in Active Directory Certificate Services to manage and issue digital certificates efficiently.
- Extensive experience integrating and configuring Enterprise Root Certificate Authorities within complex infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks related to PKI, such as X.509, CRL, OCSP, and PKCS.
- Strong understanding of secure private key storage mechanisms and best practices.
- Skilled in integrating PKI applications into existing systems and infrastructure.
- Proven ability in application packaging, ensuring the seamless deployment and integration of PKI-related software.
- Deep knowledge of cryptographic concepts, algorithms, and protocols, including RSA, ECC, etc.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) to enhance the security of cryptographic operations.
- Experience designing and implementing secure certificate lifecycle management processes, including certificate revocation and renewal.
- Strong understanding of network and system security principles and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to present technical information to a non-technical audience.
Responsibilities of the PKI Engineer:
- Design and implement the client’s public key infrastructure (PKI) system.
- Monitor the performance of the PKI system, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or vulnerabilities that may arise.
- Troubleshoot and resolve PKI-related problems, including certificate management, key storage, and integration with various applications.
- Develop and enforce PKI policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigating and resolving security incidents or breaches related to PKI, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of the PKI infrastructure and suggest changes.
- Manage the certificate lifecycle, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and archival, while adhering to established procedures.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and provide ongoing support and guidance.
- Provide technical guidance and support to IT teams and end-users regarding PKI-related matters, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
- Document PKI infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on PKI concepts, best practices, and the proper use of digital certificates.
