Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced full-time Cisco ASA & Firepower Support Engineer Role for one of our valued clients. This will be a 3-month long project for which you will be entrusted with the responsibility to support our client’s cyber-attack prevention program using Cisco.
The responsibilities of the Cisco engineer will include promoting a positive security culture for the organization by protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and assets while assisting the company to successfully meet its strategic goals.
This position focuses on both data center firewall engineering and operations, and the secure deployment and monitoring of these environments. You must have a strong grip on the administration of Cisco infrastructure including both CLI and FMC interfaces to accomplish their goals.
Moreover, you must have a significant amount of experience with white-hat hacking as you’ll perform security audits, risk analysis, application-level vulnerability testing, and security code reviews, and develop customized technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities. That said, you are expected to ensure developers create the most secure systems while enhancing the privacy of all system users.
More importantly, you must have strong expertise in configuring, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting ACLs, S2S VPNs, BGP connections, IPsec, routing, optimizing/tuning, etc. in multi-context mode, and all Cisco-related problems.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Network Security, or Network Architecture as its major coursework.
- Cisco CCNA certification (CCNP Preferred)
- Experience with Firewall engineering and operations with primary expertise in Cisco: FirePower and Cisco ASA (in multi-context mode)
- Strong expertise with Cisco Firewall Management Console (FMC) configuring and troubleshooting Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPSs)
- Experience with Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI) engineering for carrying out most tasks.
- Expertise with Cisco ACL reviewing, editing, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with Cisco Site-to-Site (S2S) Virtual Private Networking (VPN) (preferably with a focus on double/twice NAT architecture)
- Palo Alto Firewalls experience (preferred)
- Willingness to work part-time hours to support urgent upgrades/patches/etc. and rotating.
- Experience working with outside vendors for additional support.
- Expertise in Data Loss Prevention and Access Management.
- Proficiency with Networking & working with the availability of network ranges.

Responsibilities of the Preferred Cisco ASA & Firepower Support Engineer:
- Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert on Cisco ASA & Firepower Engineering Support.
- Gives advice for effective Cisco firewall operations.
- Provides 3rd-line technical support for all Cisco network and security customers, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving matters for them.
- Takes the technical lead on any Cisco Firepower and Identity Services Engine (ISE) related issues for customers.
- Ensures all the operational and engineering knowledge is shared with the team.
- Designs and implements configuration changes on behalf of our customers, following the accepted change management process.
- Identifies, analyzes, and documents Cisco Engineering and operational needs and defines a feasible Firewall management plan.
- Works with the Datacenter Engineers and Security teams to add routes, troubleshoot complex networking issues, and make recommendations on configurations, etc.
- Evaluates & documents our Cisco firewall policy and administration.
- Creates Cisco firewall rules & objects.
- Leads technical meetings and discussions.
- Collaborates with other Operations Centre engineers and 3rd Party vendors for issues of networking and security outside of Cisco technologies. For example, Check Point.
- Contributes to the design of new fully managed customer solutions, advising the architects where required.
- Assists with the onboarding of newly Managed customers.
- Provides Service Managers with technical support during customer escalations.
