Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced SQL Engineer role for one of our valued clients. The responsibilities of the SQL engineer will be to lead a project of backing up and restoring databases (that are no longer in use currently) from the SQL 2008 server in their previous domain to the new domain.
There are file data, reports, and so much to be managed and some pointers will also need to be updated. You’ll also test SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in parallel with the previous installation in collaboration with the required teams.
You will develop SQL queries and procedures, create custom reports, and modify ERP user forms to enhance our organizational productivity. That said, you’ll set the date and cut to the new SSRS environment in a timely fashion to complete the project. We also need strong expertise for post-migration support.
Though it’s a dedicated SQL project with all the needs predominantly predefined, we expect you to come up with all the necessary SQL qualifications that are expected of a good SQL engineer. As an SQL engineer, you may be assigned the responsibility of designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance. Moreover, you will help solve all database usage issues and give us ideas and suggestions to improve our SQL environment.
The perfect candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation, and support for the SQL server migration solution, and exhibit strong technical aptitude as well as project management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

That said, the job will require from you some strong analytical skills, a sharp sense of logic, splendid problem-solving skills, and an orientation to detail.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Information technology, or Software Engineering, as its major coursework.
- Advanced knowledge of database procedures and Microsoft SQL Server concepts.
- 5 years of experience as an SQL Developer or similar role
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Servers and at least 3 years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services.
- Enough knowledge of JavaScript.
- Strong expertise in Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and T-SQL programming
- Experience with SQL server migration and post-migration support.
- Knowledge of one or more SQL variants, such as MySQL, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Skilled at optimizing large, complicated SQL statements and the ability to create fast and efficient database queries.
- Familiarity with standard database management tools and software, such as Microsoft Access, Oracle Database, and phpMyAdmin.
- Experience with popular relational databases and knowledge of the best practices.
- Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary.
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level and business-level specifications.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting advanced SQL issues
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.

Responsibilities of the Preferred SQL Engineer:
- Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert in SQL Engineering.
- Leads the project at hand and coordinates all technical discussions and decisions among teams.
- Takes ownership of the project results and implements best practices to ensure success.
- Develops dependable and efficient SQL solutions.
- Analyzes the current SQL environment, prepares plans for migration, and then implements migration to the new domain.
- Maintains servers, prepares reports, and keeps the higher authorities updated.
- Develops, implements, and optimizes stored procedures and functions preferably using T-SQL.
- Reviews and interprets current business report requirements and improves them, as well as builds timely and useful reports.
- Researches the required data for the success of the project.
- Develops procedures and scripts for data migration.
- Provides timely scheduled management reporting.
- Investigates exceptions with regard to asset movements.
