Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated and experienced Security DevOps/SRE Engineer Role to join one of our client companies. As a member of the product team, you will work together alongside other software engineers to ensure the delivery and deployment of quality software components in our client’s next-generation adaptive risk management platform, a platform used by their customers to enhance their cyber resiliency.

In addition to building software, you will have the opportunity to help the company define and implement secure software development best practices, standards, and strategies to enhance its cybersecurity profile through advanced automation. This role is a key contributor to the software team’s activities that align with both NIST 800-218, Secure Software Development Framework, and Supply chain Levels for Software Artifacts (SLSA).

That said, this role will also require a background in building secure CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments. A solid foundation in Linux with a focus on Kubernetes and bash scripting will be essential for this role, and occasional development in GoLang is also possible. Your experience with security-focused application delivery pipelines will be critical for success, moving beyond static and dynamic application security testing, canary deployments, and blue/green deployments, into chaos engineering, fuzz testing, etc.

Also, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work independently without strict supervision and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.

Required SkillsQualifications/Education:

  • Candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, electrical engineering, or a related field, or can demonstrate comparable professional experience.
    • 5+ years’ experience in supporting a 24×7 production environment.
    • Experience designing, implementing, and automating application delivery via CI/CD pipelines.
    • Proficiency in a modern programming language preferred (Go or Java)
    • Experience with Zero Trust (preferred)
    • Preferred certifications include: HashiCorp Cloud Engineer Certification, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Application Developer, and/or various Azure certifications.
    • Demonstrable scripting skills to achieve high degrees of automation.
    • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
    • High learning agility and willingness to learn new technologies, languages, and tools.
    • Collaborates well with team members.
    • Customer-focused and service-oriented.
  • Expertise with Terraform & Ansible (preferred)
  • Exposure to data center migration projects is preferred.
  • Experience with data security and data access controls and design
  • Should be able to troubleshoot problems across infrastructure, platform, and application domains.

Responsibilities of the Desired Security-DevOps/SRE Engineer:

  • Delivers subject matter expertise in Security DevOps.
  • Design, implementation, and management of multiple microservice CI/CD pipelines.
  • Building and automating the setup of new development tools and infrastructure.
  • A combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills that will include a mixture of both on-call and routine operational tasks.
  • Ensures that our software development and production systems are resilient against cybersecurity threats.
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
  • Develops and maintains an instrumentation strategy for the company.
  • Manages source control and actively facilitates communication and collaboration among teams and departments.
  • Defines and implements continuous integration, and performance delivery and meticulously develops and releases management strategy.
  • Ensures new features and subject areas are modeled to integrate with existing structures and provide a consistent view.
  • Develops and oversees a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy.
  • Develops a Security & Compliance plan for the company.
  • Proactively provides resolution to an extensive range of complicated DevOps problems, and as issues surface.
  • Gathers end-user requirements and authors technical documentation.
  • Takes ownership of technical solutions from a security and automation perspective for projects from the conceptual phase through architecture, feasibility, design, and implementation
  • Suggests innovative solutions based on new technologies and the latest trends to leadership and data stakeholders.
  • Reviews the architectural/ technological solutions for ongoing projects and ensures the right choice of solution.
  • Work closely with executives and other departmental team members to understand their business, capture requirements, identify pain areas, accordingly, propose a feasible solution.
  • Ensures timely resolution of problems.
