Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a Principal Platform Engineer role in Open & Cloud Platforms
for one of our valued clients. Our new resource will be responsible for creating and managing resources on cloud platforms using a diverse tool set.
This will be a leadership role on the platform engineering team tasked with ensuring that architecture & engineering tasks are managed in a consistent way. The candidate is expected to assume an engineering role to design Proof-Of-Concept (POC) and deliver solutions based on our unique business requirements and best technical practices.
We are seeking a highly resourceful individual with practical coding skills for building and versioning infrastructure against multi-cloud. While supervising our Cloud Infrastructure and Architecture, the resource will ensure we are working smoothly with any requested platform or service with an accessible API.
She will be responsible for completing the whole Cloud workflow. From defining infrastructures in configuration files to planning & reviewing recurring changes, everything will be on her.
In fact, the new resource will be a part of a larger technical team that is supposed to work in active collaboration to solve complex problems for the organization. It will require a strong grip on Windows & Linux operating systems, and strong analytical skills, a sharp sense of logic, splendid problem-solving skills, and an orientation to detail.
All in all, WME is looking for some exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in the new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. From being technically savvy to displaying a vigorous passion for learning beyond his traditional areas of expertise, the resource must prove to be an asset to the company.
Must Have Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as an enterprise-level Engineer building and supporting modern infrastructure (Cloud, K8s, gitops, etc.) in large-scale environments.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux and Open Systems to include tuning and systems performance.
- 5+ years of experience with automation and systems programming.
- 3+ years of experience with Software Defined Infrastructure (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.).
- 2+ years working with GIT or other modern version control systems.
- 3+ years of experience with higher level programming languages (Perl, Python, Go, etc.).
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- Experience with designing production systems in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Experience with Kubernetes and related technologies (Docker, Flux, Sysdig, Rancher, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization technologies to carry out design and capacity planning.
- Expert-level experience with managing multiple flavors of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SuSE, etc.)
- Experience with designing and maintaining GitOps to support automation (Gitlab, etc.)
- Experience in working across teams to gather requirements and create solutions.
- Experience in communicating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
- Experience with BCP planning to include design and execution.
- Understanding of agile and traditional software development processes.
- Skilled in system-level architecture like Linux or Windows
- 2-3 years of experience as a cloud engineer with sound Knowledge of Azure is preferred.
- Extended experience with IaC & PaC.
- Proficient with automated single-click deployment, configuration management, and production support
- Knowledge of Shell scripting
- Working experience in a 24×7 environment.
- Well-organized personality with great attention to minimalistic details.

Responsibilities of the Selected Principal Platform Engineer in the Cloud Technology:
- Contributes to the team’s engineering efforts by actively participating in technical projects to support the evolving needs of the business.
- Works with teams across the enterprise to build modern, scalable solutions leveraging on-premises and cloud technologies where appropriate.
- Uses her own analytical and programming skills to build automation for engineered solutions.
- Adheres strictly to the company’s standards in all areas.
- Conducts research and runs proof-of-concept implementations for new solutions.
- Facilitates a collaborative team environment that encourages growth through participation.
- Develops self-service infrastructure provisioning, maintains delivery pipelines, log and monitoring services
- Improves cloud platform’s effectiveness to speed up delivery and augment product flexibility
- Monitors, improves and fixes cloud infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.
- Runs effective processes to troubleshoot diverse operational issues related to the cloud infrastructure
- Collaborates with other organizational teams and key stakeholders to understand and contribute to user requirements and then implement customized solutions.
