Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for an SME-level O365 Engineer Role for one of our clients. The candidate should have strong experience in Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, OS management for Mac and Windows, and SCCM. This will be a 12-month role for which the ideal candidate should be proficient in SharePoint Windows System integration and be able to provide dependable support throughout our client’s projects and routine operations.

With deep expertise in Microsoft Office 365, including configuration, deployment, and administration of various Office 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, you should have proven experience with designing and implementing complex Office 365 architectures.

That said, the candidate should have a strong understanding of Active Directory (AD) and its integration with Office 365 services. The candidate should be proficient in managing and troubleshooting AD objects, group policies, and authentication mechanisms within an Office 365 environment.

We are also looking for extensive experience with managing and maintaining macOS and Windows operating systems. This includes deploying, configuring, patching, and troubleshooting macOS and Windows devices in an SME environment. For the system management tool, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), you should be able to use it effectively for software distribution, patch management, and device management.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science or Information Systems as its major coursework.
  • SME-level experience with SharePoint, One Note, Drive, and related O365 Products
  • Strong experience with Active Directory
  • Strong experience with Microsoft CA/PKI
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a special focus on listening to accurately assess & document stakeholders’ needs and business use cases.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Expert-level documentation skills.
  • Sound conversational and negotiating skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, including cloud-based productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with SME-level Microsoft Office 365, including configuration, deployment, and administration of its services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including its cloud services, management tools, and integration with Google Workspace and other cloud resources.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure & resources in platforms like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory (AD) in an SME environment.
  • Experience with software patch management using tools like Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) for Windows devices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including its cloud services, management tools, and integration with Office 365 and Windows environments.
  • Proficiency in automating tasks and workflows related to Office 365, AD, and Windows using PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software distribution, patch management, and device management in an SME environment.
  • Familiarity with VMware virtualization platform and ESXi hosts for managing virtual machines.
  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for managing certificates, encryption, and digital signatures in an SME environment.

Responsibilities of the MS SharePoint Contractor:

  • Work directly with systems to ensure high availability of the client’s production environment.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues including server hardware, operating systems, and network configurations.
  • Implement and manage Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions to ensure data protection and minimize downtime in case of system failures.
  • Design and implement system monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues in the client’s environment.
  • Provide day-to-day systems support and collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise for the integration and implementation of new systems and technologies.
  • Optimize system performance and resource utilization through system tuning, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Help to provide technical design ideas for next-level systems integration and implementation.
  • Consult clients on current and future infrastructure plans.
  • Represent team initiatives in daily standup meetings and update day-to-day activity.
  • Maintain and migrate existing O365 infrastructure to Google Workspace
  • Participate in security assessments and audits and implement security best practices to safeguard the client’s environment against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to the client on infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh cycles to ensure a secure and efficient environment.
  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to educate end-users on best practices, system usage, and troubleshooting techniques to promote self-sufficiency and minimize support requests.
  • Ensures timely resolution of problems.
