Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a Network System Integrator/Architect role for one of our valued clients. The individual must be versed and able to perform the following:

  • Monitor the Contract’s programs/software, including VDS, ATMS, Solar Winds, and EMCMS. Other programs/software may include Centracs and Tactics.
  • Ensure network availability and network security, and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Be on call 24/7 to provide answers in emergencies and to support the Department and Contractor staff.
  • Integrate newly installed equipment into the existing infrastructure.
  • Document all proposed connections as directed by the Engineer.
  • Design new network infrastructure to be incorporated into the electrical maintenance network. All sections of the electrical maintenance network include surveillance, lighting, traffic signals, pump stations, etc.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work effectively in dynamic conditions and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.

EMC Work Requirements:

The education, knowledge, and skills required for this position are equivalent to that of a Network Administrator. The Contract requires that this individual possess the following:

Formal Education and Certification:

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems with twelve (12) years of related work experience; or an associate degree with fifteen (15) years of related experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Switching and Routing certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security certification.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Network Integrator / Architect Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Four years’ experience working on Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Four years’ experience working and programming on Windows Servers.
  • Four years’ experience working on DHCP and DNS.
  • Proficiency with the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) seven-layer model.
    • Layer 1: Physical Layer
    • Layer 2: MAC Address (Data Link Layer)
    • Layer 3: Network Protocols
    • Layer 4: Transport Layer
    • Layer 5: Session Layer
    • Layer 6: Presentation Layer
    • Layer 7: Application/User Interface Layer
  • Proficiency with TCP/IP Stack: Network Access, Internet, Transport, and Application Layers.
  • Ability to calculate network addresses, subnet masks, broadcast addresses, and host IP address ranges (IPv4 and IPv6).
  • Extensive experience in system and network creation and development.
  • Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience conducting technology, trends, standards, and product research.
  • Solid track record in prioritizing and executing tasks under pressure.
  • Experience providing guidance and leadership to systems engineers.
  • Proven experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems.
  • Proven project planning and management experience.
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent architecture and technical support skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Must be able to navigate uneven and/or extreme terrains in the field.
