Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated, customer-oriented Microsoft SharePoint Migration & Modernization Engineer role for one of our valued clients. This will be a 6 to 9-month-long remote responsibility for which we need deep expertise in SharePoint Modernization Techniques such as migrating from on-premises to the cloud, upgrading to the latest SharePoint version, and implementing modern SharePoint design principles.
The person we are looking for should be able to plan and implement SharePoint migrations in a large environment covering tens of thousands of endpoints. One of the key responsibilities here will be to rewrite InfoPath for workflows using SharePoint Designer.
The perfect candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft SharePoint solutions and exhibit strong technical aptitude as well as project management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
In fact, the resource will be a part of a larger technical team that is supposed to work in active collaboration to solve complex problems for the organization. It will require familiarity with operating systems, strong analytical skills, a sharp sense of logic, splendid problem-solving skills, and an orientation to detail.

Required SkillsQualifications/Education:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science or Information Systems as its major coursework.
- At least 3 years of experience with designing and implementing Microsoft Office 365, Exchange Server, SharePoint, and Active Directory.
- Deep Understanding of SharePoint Architecture including its features and capabilities.
- A strong technical background, including experience with SharePoint Designer, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), and related technologies. They should also have experience in troubleshooting complex SharePoint issues, implementing governance policies, and creating custom SharePoint solutions.
- Direct experience migrating from SharePoint on-premises/hosted to SharePoint online through various migration methods (Cutover, Staged, Hybrid)
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
- Consulting experience with large-scale migrations to Microsoft SharePoint 2016/2019/online.
- Experience with provisioning a virtual cloud service environment.
- Proficient with PowerShell, PowerShell Workflow, and troubleshooting PowerShell ISE.
- ITIL v3 foundation knowledge.
- Experience with the most current version of Remedy ITSM.
- Familiarity with cloud system engineering principles and techniques.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft collaboration stack Office 365.

Responsibilities of the Desired SharePoint Migration & Modernization Engineer:
- Analyzes customer needs, documents requirements, and designs technical solutions for required migrations.
- Designs and implements Office 365 and related technologies including Exchange Online, Exchange Server, SharePoint, and MS Active Directory.
- Provides Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and Active Directory Synchronization.
- Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert on SharePoint migrations.
- Assists in training end-users during all upgrade phases.
- Leads technical meetings and discussions.
- Preempts to handle difficult personnel situations and find innovative solutions.
- Timely resolution of problems. Work schedules may have to be adjusted for non-primetime maintenance windows.
- Identifies, analyzes, and documents stakeholder needs and defines a solution scope that can feasibly be implemented by the technical teams.
- Works with stakeholders to identify requirements and ensures that they are rightly understood, rather than solely relying on the customers’ stated needs.
- Effectively communicates between business units, support teams, and technology teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with MS SharePoint migrations.
- Microsoft certifications.
- Experience working in a complex consulting environment.
- Experience with server virtualization, storage, and networking.
- Enough experience with Microsoft Government Computing Cloud (GCC) Migrations or Microsoft Commercial Cloud migrations.
