Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a Linux Administrator who will be responsible to ensure an error-less running of the operating systems and internal devices by assisting with patching, resolving technical bottlenecks, and removing security issues from the network.

This will be a remote contract job and the position holder will be wearing many hats. From covering backups & managing disasters to restoring files & automating processes, it involves a wide range of bits from nearly every sub-field of Software Services.

The perfect job candidate should be adept at all these overlapping areas for both physical and virtual systems.

A Linux System Administrator must be able to thoroughly grasp the entire security environment and then help the decision-makers with their future actions. Such a level of resourcefulness requires from you some sound technical knowledge of databases, network security, firewalls, and all other important aspects of a large-scale working environment.

That said, the candidate should be able to build and assess a security infrastructure and provide recommendations based on business-level understanding to fill up the gaps and improve the infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be a part of the larger support team that is supposed to work in active collaboration to solve complex problems for the organization. It will require from him a strong grip over Windows operating systems, virtualization, network configuration, and interoperability.  

In fact, WME is looking for some really splendid communication and interpersonal skills in our new team members. Our new Linux resource is also expected to be able enough to provide a high-quality user experience. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. From being technically savvy to displaying a vigorous passion for learning beyond his traditional areas of expertise, the resource must prove to be an asset to our team.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Network Administration/Engineering or any other Computer Science related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Know-how of Project Management skills to facilitate resources and ease down workload severity for the team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Linux OS & Enterprise Linux including a fair amount of exposure to monitoring tools & Kernel Tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with agile methodologies in Development and Operations.
  • Thorough understanding of IT hardware & technicalities including Infrastructure Support, Automation, System Tuning and Enhancements, and other best remedies.
  • Should be able to perform production troubleshooting, particularly for distributed systems.
  • Should be able to locate Linux and detect issues of storage capacity.
  • Ample insights and expertise in Kubernetes Clusters & Application Containerization.
  • Proficiency with scripting with Shell (KSH, Bash) and Python
  • Experience in multiple Linux OS Distributions.
  • He must be adept at component placement for micro-services and 3-tier applications.
  • Experience with Build & Integration tools and software project builds
  • Expertise in Vulnerability Patching
  • Understanding of Azure public cloud.
  • Must be proficient at security options like Firewall, Load Balancing, TLS encryption for server-application safety, etc.
  • Should be able to execute effective vulnerability remediation in Unix
  • Working experience in a 24×7 environment.

Preferred Additional Qualification:

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux Administration.
  • Proficiency with Red Hat software
  • Significant experience in managing a large volume of Unix devices
  • SSL expertise
  • VMWare certification with experience in EXSI/EXS.

Preferred Additional Qualification:

  • Administration of all users
  • Maintaining system security by detecting and removing vulnerability and compliance issues.
  • Designing and implementing a CIS Hardened OS and ultimately ensuring its safety from possible cyberattacks.
  • Satellite & Tower Patching
  • Routing across multiple network types
  • Active collaboration in large-scale Windows deployment and Management.
  • Focused and timely task implementation carrying out complex interactions with the team and data systems
  • Delivering effective Service Level Objectives (SLO) management.
  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
