Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated, customer-oriented Junior Systems Administrator role for one of our valued clients. The Junior System Administrator will be responsible for creating and maintaining secure, technical infrastructures. Our client builds adaptive risk management programs where innovation is most needed, so they’ll prefer an innovative problem solver for this role.

The Junior System Administrator will have some experience with systems engineering, scripting of patching and deployment activities as well as an understanding of networking and cloud concepts that aid in the management and simplification of the cybersecurity posture of the infrastructure.

That said, an ideal candidate exhibits a high level of learning agility and a willingness and ability to learn new technologies and solutions and generically solve process and technology problems through automated methods. The candidate should also have the ability to balance multiple tasks at one time while maintaining attention to detail. Moreover, they should be able to maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude and exhibit the ability to use good judgment and keep client information confidential.

Lastly, WME is looking for some exceptional interpersonal skills in our new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. From being technically savvy to displaying a vigorous passion for learning beyond their traditional areas of expertise, the resource must prove to be an asset to the company.

Required SkillsQualifications/Education:

  • Experience with Security or Cloud Engineer/Architect in a service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services, or 3 years of secure cloud engineering combined with some traditional data center engineering and architecture solutions.
  • Experience with Office 365, Government Community Cloud, GCCH, and Azure Commercial Capabilities.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF, 800-171, CSA, CMMC, FedRAMP, HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, CIS, and similar industry regulations.
  • A knowledge foundation across the Microsoft technology stack and Azure security offerings with the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to key partners.
  • Familiar Enterprise Mobility and Security Suite (EM+S), Defender for Endpoint, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Azure Information Protection (AIP), Intune/Endpoint Manager, Azure Key Vault, Azure Security Center, Azure Operations Management Service, Log Analytics, and Azure Sentinel
  • Assists with Management principals, including B2B and B2C cloud design and implementation.
  • Technical understanding of Microsoft security products in addition to competitors such as Symantec, McAfee, Sophos, Cisco, Splunk, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Imperva, Trend Micro, etc.
  • Understanding of EDR solutions to SEIM and SOAR platform implementation and management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure AZ-104, AZ-300, AZ-500, MS-500, CISSP or CISM certifications highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities of the Junior System Administrator:

  • Manage IT administration and operations for customer support requests.
  • Implement technical solutions for customers needing technical assistance across various IT systems.
  • Demonstrate complete ownership of objectives and carry the managed tasks to completion.
  • Partner with engineers to execute tasks associated with Azure Cloud security architecture strategies, frameworks, and reference models that support business needs and objectives in complex customer environments.
  • Entry-level subject matter expertise in engineering best practices and able to assist in developing solutions.
  • Aid engineering and Security operations center resources on access, architecture, and incident investigation
  • Assist when required with enterprise architects to perform security reviews, and develop top-tier, innovative security offerings for the company.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses, ensuring that they are up-to-date and comply with the company’s IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor system logs and alerts to identify and troubleshoot issues related to network connectivity, hardware failures, and software errors, and take necessary action to resolve them.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures, ensuring that critical systems and data are backed up and recoverable in case of an emergency.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to identify and resolve cross-functional technical issues and participate in IT projects that require support and maintenance from the System Administration team.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance activities, such as patch management, firmware upgrades, and system backups.
