Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for an Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer role for one of our valued clients. We need services of this engineer temporarily for a four week long project. Our new resource will be responsible for ensuring smooth networking, virtualization, storage, and resiliency using Azure infrastructure.
The responsibilities of the Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer will include planning, implementing and monitoring our Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure, Identity & Security, and User Environments and Apps.
The successful candidate will work as a dependable server/desktop administrator with necessary skills in designing, implementing, and maintaining MS Azure Virtual Desktop services and remote applications for any devices as required.
Building on these skills, the person will manage the organization’s end-users desktops for delivery and configuration. That said, the said person will work in close collaboration with Azure administrators, architects, and security engineers, and MS 365 admins.
In fact, the successful candidate will be a part of a larger technical team that is supposed to work in active collaboration to solve complex problems for the organization. The person will require a strong grip on Windows & Linux operating systems, and strong analytical skills, a sharp sense of logic, splendid problem-solving skills, and an orientation to detail.
In fact, WME is looking for some exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in the new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. From being technically savvy to displaying a vigorous passion for learning beyond their traditional areas of expertise, the resource must prove to be an asset to the company.
Must Have Experience:
- 2+ Years of Consulting experience
- 1 Year of Azure Networking & Infrastructure Support experience
- 1 Year of Azure Virtual Desktop experience with planning and deployment
- Experience with planning high availability and disaster recovery for AVD
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- In-depth understanding of the Windows environment & its maintenance
- Proven proficiency with Azure virtual desk
- Skills in vulnerability management and patch management
- Shrewd understanding of main Azure services like Virtual Networks, Identity, and Recovery Services, etc.
- Ability to write scripts in MS PowerShell
- Experience with patching and vulnerability management
- Acquainted with Azure cloud environment
- Sound familiarity with databases, cloud computing and networking
- Linux Experience is a plus
- Working experience in a 24×7 environment
- Well-organized personality with great attention to minimalistic details
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities of an Exemplary Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer:
- Maintain and frontend disaster recovery efforts, backup and restore procedures
- Implements auto-scaling in host pools
- Automates Azure Virtual Desktop management tasks
- Monitors and manage performance and health
- Monitors and manages Azure Virtual Desktop services
- Manages FSLogix profiles
- Creates documents, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Creates and maintains AVD Hostpool & Runbooks
- Writes PowerShell scripts
- Troubleshoots and remediates performance and functionality issues
- Runs tests on servers against their performance status, such as resource utilization, zombie processes
- Sets up Active Directory (AD) accounts and workstations
- Installs and reports on patch/system updates and vulnerability compliance
Preferred Qualification:
As we need resources for two distinct responsibilities in Terraform Engineering & MS Azure Virtual Desktop Engineering, the candidate with both expertise will be prioritized.
