WME Needs an Azure Engineer

Position:         Full-Time / Second Shift (Hours)

Location:        100% Remote

Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated and experienced Azure Engineer Role to join one of our client companies. The candidate should be a full Azure Migration Engineer and their primary responsibility will be to manage and remediate our client’s post-migration issues. Their responsibilities may also include deploying and configuring virtual machines, storage solutions, network components, and other Azure services.

The candidate should have strong expertise in Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and PowerShell scripting to automate deployment and management tasks. They should also be familiar with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment.

That said, they should have experience with Azure security and compliance, including Azure Security Center, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Information Protection. They should be able to design and implement secure Azure architectures, conduct security assessments, and implement security policies and procedures.

The candidate should also be familiar with Azure monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Application Insights to ensure the high availability and reliability of the Azure infrastructure.

Lastly, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work effectively in dynamic conditions and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week (SECOND SHIFT HOURS) and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology as its major coursework.
  • 4+ years’ experience working in Azure IaaS environments, including deployment, configuration, and management of virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networks.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Azure Migrate to assess and facilitate the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Azure load balancers and expertise in configuring and optimizing load-balancing solutions for high availability and scalability.
  • Thorough knowledge of Azure Traffic Manager and its implementation to distribute network traffic across multiple endpoints for improved performance and resilience.
  • Expertise in Citrix, specifically NetScaler/ADC, with the ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot Citrix load balancing and application delivery solutions.
  • In-depth familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server versions including 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019, encompassing installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Proficient in managing Microsoft Remote Desktop Gateway and RD Web services to enable secure remote access to Windows-based desktops and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS) and hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining IIS web servers for hosting applications and websites.
  • Expertise in managing and maintaining Active Directory services, including domain controllers, user accounts, groups, group policies, and security permissions.
  • Sound understanding of Domain Name System (DNS) and its role in resolving domain names to IP addresses, along with practical experience in configuring and troubleshooting DNS services.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize Azure architectures, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and management of Azure resources.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the capability to identify and resolve Azure infrastructure-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of Azure security best practices and hands-on experience in implementing security measures such as network security groups, virtual network service endpoints, and Azure Firewall.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring smooth Azure infrastructure operations and project delivery.

Responsibilities of the Desired Azure Engineer:

  • Design, implement, and manage Azure IAAS solutions, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networks, based on business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct assessments and utilize Azure Migrate to evaluate and facilitate the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Configure and maintain Azure load balancers to distribute network traffic efficiently and optimize application availability and scalability.
  • Implement and manage Azure Traffic Manager to ensure optimal routing and load balancing across multiple endpoints, improving application performance and resilience.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot Citrix NetScaler/ADC to enable load balancing and application delivery for Citrix-based solutions.
  • Install, configure, and administer Microsoft Windows Server versions, including 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019, ensuring stable and secure server environments.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Remote Desktop Gateway and RD Web services to provide secure remote access to Windows-based desktops and applications for end users.
  • Configure and maintain Internet Information Services (IIS) web servers, ensuring reliable hosting of applications and websites.
  • Administer and optimize Active Directory services, including domain controllers, user accounts, groups, group policies, and security permissions, to ensure efficient user management and access control.
  • Configure and troubleshoot DNS services to ensure reliable name resolution and smooth network communication.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Azure architectures, considering performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines, enabling automated deployment and management of Azure resources.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure components, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Implement Azure security measures, including network security groups, virtual network service endpoints, and Azure Firewall, to protect Azure resources and data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and other teams to ensure effective communication, coordination, and successful delivery of Azure infrastructure projects.
