Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer for a full-time job as soon as possible.
WME will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to maintain high-quality customer experience. The individual must have technical expertise, passion for learning beyond their JDs and a thorough understanding of business processes.
Description:
The Azure Cloud Engineer will:
- assist with the design, planning, management, maintenance, and support, and any other technological duties associated with the development of SaskTel’s Azure Managed Services environment
- work with the ICT Operations team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions
- evaluate Azure cloud strategy and program architecture, manage cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines, gather system requirements (while working together with the SaskTel Solution Architects and business owners, generate scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of cloud resources, and deploy/debug Azure cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- ensure knowledge transfer to the SaskTel Azure Managed Services teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
- remain current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help SaskTel innovate and excel
Certifications & Education Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering OR recognized Technical Institute Diploma in Information Technology.
- Certification in the following:
- Azure Administrator;
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert; and
- Azure Security Engineer Associate

- 10+ years in Networking within Windows and Linux
- 5+ Years of Experience Architecting within Azure to include:

Domain Knowledge
Azure Domain:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud (knowledge of cloud resource deployment principles or usage of specific cloud technologies)
- Experience of administering and operating medium/large enterprise infrastructure and services in public cloud environments, including configuring backup, monitoring, patching and security of cloud resources
- Background in Azure scripting and Automation, with a strong broad knowledge of Azure products
- Experience with building out Azure Monitor capabilities to fill any gaps between the service requirements and what SaskTel’s monitoring solution can provide.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience – scripting and automation via AZ CLI/PowerShell, Bash, Bicep, JSON templates, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps

Typical Duties:
Will include, but not be limited to:
- Performs program design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, configuration for computer-based systems.
- Performs analysis of high-level requirements to create solution designs.
- Maintains current knowledge of technical advancements as they pertain to application development and support.
- Maintain automations and scripting in a virtual environment.
- Ensure system integrations are functioning according to business requirements and troubleshot issues that arise.
- Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported and communicated on and resolved in a timely manner as it pertains to deliverables.
- Ensure knowledge transfer to SaskTel employees is completed prior to the end of the contract term.
- Use SaskTel processes and templates where applicable.
