Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated and experienced Active Directory Support Role to join one of our valued clients. As the lead support role, you will provide support and implementation of the AD solutions, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions.

You will serve as the escalation point for application support and troubleshooting and provide guidance and direction in the resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application, or system problems. That said, you are supposed to empathetically involve stakeholders and ultimately solve problems in the right way.

The individual resolves and appropriately completes assigned tasks and change requests and acts as an escalation for support issues. Then, you’ll apply new solutions through research and collaboration with teams and determine the right course of action for new application initiatives. Then, you’ll implement new software solutions as required by the business. The core infrastructure technology duties here include enterprise Microsoft Active Directory, ADFS, Microsoft Certificate Services, policy configuration, and top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives.

Lastly, WME is looking for some exceptional communication & interpersonal skills in the new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • Expert-level grip on Active Directory architecture and management.
  • Experience with auditing AD environments to suggest and implement enhancements.
  • Experience with DHCP, DNS, Information Security, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to create roadmaps, work instructions, and other documentation with the audience of management teams, executives, and/or engineers.
  • Expert-level knowledge of creating, administering, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs) 
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Azure AD Connect.
  • Expertise with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), SAML, and SSO
  • Expertise with PKI, PIV cards, and Smart Cards.
  • Windows Certificates Services Management.
  • Expertise with Distributed File Systems including both DFS-N and DFS-R.
  • Windows Failover Clustering, file shares, and security administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems (2012 R2 to 2019)
  • Mid-level grip on VMware vSphere and Hyper-V Virtualization
  • Develops security standards and controls per DISA STIGS and CISA requirements.
  • Scripting Experience: PowerShell and VBScript.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019 Administration (MCSE, MCITP certification)
  • 7+ years of IT work experience in a global information technology infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities of the Desired Active Directory Support Engineer:

  • Installs, configures, and maintains Active Directory and third-party software utilities for hardware systems within company operational guidelines.
  • Supports Active Directory Services at a multi-forest enterprise scale for implementation of global initiatives via collaboration with project and support teams.
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Troubleshoots Active Directory-related issues arising time-to-time and helps troubleshoot via coordinated calls on AD incidents. 
  • Manages Active Directory upgrades, backups, restores, redundancy, etc.
  • Drives improvements of Active Directory services and improves our services 
  • Supports application teams to find flaws in their design that would affect resiliency 
  • Ensures the AD environment is least vulnerable to security threats and is risk-free.
  • Identifies opportunities to innovate, extend and enhance service delivery everywhere possible.
  • Performs Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for directory services environment.
  • Creates and maintains system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
  • Improves existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.
  • Provides training as required.
