Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated, experienced Modern Desktop Engineer Role to join one of our valued clients. As a Modern Desktop Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including cross-functional teams and medium to large-scale customers. Your strong technical acumen and in-depth understanding of modern device management will be vital in delivering tailored solutions that align with business requirements.
From implementing co-management strategies to leveraging automation tools like PowerShell and Python, you will help streamline operations and enhance the user experience. You will also play a pivotal role in ensuring endpoint security and compliance, working closely with security teams to implement robust measures for threat detection and data protection.
As a Modern Desktop Engineer, you will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies is crucial. Also, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work effectively in dynamic conditions and within deadlines. That said, you should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science or Business administration, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Implementing modern device management solutions using Intune/Autopilot for a Hybrid environment (MEM)
- Good Knowledge of the Azure VDI/Citrix VDI
- Experience in Implementation/Consultation using Co-Management solutions (SCCM & Intune)
- Experience Implementing the modern device management solution for medium/large scale customers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) for endpoint security, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Experience in managing and optimizing virtualization platforms like Hyper-V or VMware for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployments.
- Skilled in PowerShell scripting and automation to streamline administrative tasks and develop custom solutions for managing modern desktop environments.
- Any certifications regarding MECM.
- Experienced in automation using PowerShell/Python
- Proven expertise in managing and troubleshooting Windows 10 operating systems and related technologies, including Group Policy, Windows Update, and Windows Security.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for software deployment, patch management, and application packaging.
- Proficient in designing and implementing Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) solutions, including host pool creation, image management, and user profile configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM), including configuration profiles, compliance policies, and app deployment.
- Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (AAD) and identity management concepts, including user provisioning, authentication methods, and conditional access policies.
Responsibilities of the Desired Modern Desktop Engineer:
- Design, implement, and maintain modern device management solutions using Intune/Autopilot for a hybrid environment, ensuring efficient and secure management of desktops and mobile devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and develop tailored solutions for deploying and managing modern desktop environments.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation on co-management solutions, leveraging SCCM and Intune, to achieve seamless device management and configuration.
- Lead the implementation of modern device management solutions for medium to large-scale customers, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Evaluate, test, and deploy Azure VDI/Citrix VDI solutions, optimizing performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system issues, including device enrollment, application deployment, and compliance policies, utilizing monitoring tools and logging systems.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and enforce endpoint security measures, including encryption, data loss prevention, and threat detection solutions.
- Manage and optimize Windows 10 operating systems and related technologies, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Work closely with application owners and stakeholders to package and deploy applications through MECM, ensuring compatibility and efficient distribution.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of automation scripts using PowerShell or Python to streamline administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance and capacity assessments of virtualization platforms, recommending optimizations and scalability improvements for VDI deployments.
- Ensures timely resolution of problems.
