Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a Microsoft Tech Support SME role for one of our valued partners.

The SQL Server Infrastructure expert will help us optimize and manage our SQL server environment. We are looking for a person with an interest in managing database infrastructure, who is willing to solve problems creatively and is eager to continually improve the SQL environment. As part of our team, you will be critical to improving system reliability, security, and performance. As an SQL engineer, you will utilize the latest techniques and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the product experience regarding SQL data infrastructure is aligned with business objectives.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work effectively in dynamic conditions and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.
  • Proven experience with SQL Server infrastructure management.
  • Proficiency in database performance optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server backup & recovery and high-availability strategies.
  • Expertise in SQL Server security & auditing.
  • Strong understanding of indexing, partitioning, data archiving, etc.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Azure SQL, other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with SQL Server clustering & replication.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and stored procedure creation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and also independently.
  • Solid documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain SQL Server infrastructure.
  • Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure database security & compliance with the latest standards.
  • Maintain backup and recovery solutions.
  • Manage SQL scripts and stored procedures.
  • Conduct capacity planning & performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with developers for optimal database design.
  • Manage SQL Server upgrades.
  • Monitor database systems to ensure availability.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies.
  • Conduct routine audits and provide reports.
  • Resolve database-related incidents promptly.
  • Maintain system configurations.
  • Support the migration of databases to cloud platforms.
  • Train junior team members.
