Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated, customer-oriented Domain Controller Plan Reviewer role. This will be an architect type of a responsibility for reviewing and providing subject matter advice on our Domain Controller upgrade plan. The Reviewer we’re looking for will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our organization’s Active Directory infrastructure.  

The resource must be prepared to actively collaborate and consult with our key technical experts and client teams to finally solve problems for us. This individual will review and evaluate existing domain controller plans and design & implement new plans as Domain Controller (DC) upgrades are a only a subset of the larger plan here at our organization. The selected candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week.

One of the key responsibilities here will be to Work efficiently and reliably with Port restrictions. For example, take FSMO role holder who has NTP ports open to it but others don’t. So, FSMO role here need to stay or only move for short durations. You’ll be managing things like that. That said, the resource is expected to analyze and review legacy domains spaced with difficult-to-identify applications that are potentially hard-coded to authenticate against specific IP’s (the resource must re-use the IP) and against specific host name (must re-use the name.)

Moreover, our new resource should have a convincing command on communication skills. The perfect candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation, and support for solutions, and exhibit strong technical aptitude as well as project management, documentation and problem-solving skills. In fact, WME is looking for some exceptional interpersonal skills in our new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. That said, the job will require familiarity with operating systems, and strong analytical skills, a sharp sense of logic, splendid problem-solving skills, and an orientation to detail.

Must-Have Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Active Directory security and administration
  • 3+ years of experience with domain controller technology and implementation
  • Experience with testing and evaluating the effectiveness of domain controller plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of technical support experience.
  • Certifications desired: Network+, AZ-900, AZ-104, MS-900 or AZ-700 
  • Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science or Information Systems as its major coursework.
  • Subject matter Expertise in domain controller technology and implementation.
  • Active Directory Hybrid Configuration particularly supporting Azure AD Connect and ADFS
  • Azure AD and Identity Management with Conditional Access Policies
  • Proficient with PowerShell, PowerShell Workflow and troubleshooting PowerShell ISE.
  • Experience with the most current version of Remedy ITSM.
  • Familiarity with cloud system engineering principles and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft collaboration stack Office 365.
  • Meets technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
  • Flexibility with supporting mission-critical, 24×7 projects.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Expert-level documentation skills.
  • Sound conversational and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities of the Desired Domain Controller Plan Reviewer:

  • Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert in Domain Controller Plan Reviewing.
  • Works with multiple domains, each with complicating factors such as legacy on-prem exchange, additional roles, and features to account for (DHCP, NPS, etc.)
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents stakeholder needs and defines a solution scope that can feasibly be implemented by the technical teams.
  • Participates in the identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation.
  • Participates in the analysis and redesign of existing infrastructure systems and services.
  • Participates in the analysis, design and implementation of future infrastructure systems and services.
  • Creates and maintains documentation on SOPs and System Design.
  • Researches, evaluates, recommends, and implements new technologies.
  • Performs capacity planning, upgrades, and expands Active Directory environment.
  • Maintains effective communications with vendors, peers, and clients in support of assigned projects
  • Ensures timely resolution of problems.
