Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced Consulting Engineer for one of our valued clients. The client organization works with customers to design the best solution to fit the business needs.
The Engineering technical staff works to configure, install, secure, and support IT environments of all sizes. The Consulting Engineer is a member of the Consulting staff and is expected to be able to assess and design, as well as implement and secure technology within the guidance provided by a Senior Consultant.
The Consulting Engineer is a client-focused position with a highly technical skill set that includes Microsoft, VMware, Storage, Networking, cloud architecture, and deployment knowledge. The Consulting Engineer should be able to understand client business processes and be able to align those with technological, and strategic goals and objectives.
Lastly, WME is looking for some exceptional communication & interpersonal skills in our new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. From being technically savvy to displaying a vigorous passion for learning beyond their traditional areas of expertise, they must prove to be an asset to the company.
Note: Typically they try not to have people travel 2 weeks in a row – they pay for travel hours as well.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
The successful candidate should have extensive expertise in Enterprise technologies, and an overall understanding of Enterprise on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure components that make up customer environments.
- Planning, migration, implementation, and management of Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Services\DFS, IIS, and Group Policy Objects\Hardening.
- Ability to Follow a document and prove they completed those items.
- Proficient in Office 365 migration to ensure a smooth transition of data and services.
- Demonstrates strong Azure cloud platform expertise.
- Knowledgeable in AVD and Intune migration for seamless transitions to new environments.
- Experienced in Microsoft Teams Voice services.
- Planning, implementation, and management of Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware vSphere environments
- Planning, implementation, and management of Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Virtual Networking solutions
- Planning, and implementing Microsoft Office 365 E-mail, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Teams
- Implementation and management of backup technologies that are image and file-based. Disaster Recovery and replication technologies such as Veeam Enterprise, VMware Site Recovery Manager, or Azure Site Recovery.
- Implementation and administration of Microsoft Enterprise Management Tools such as SCCM, SCOM, VMM, and Intune
- Implementation and administration of Enterprise Storage include DELL/EMC, HP, Microsoft, and VMware Software Defined Storage
- Implementation and administration of Switch, Routing, Wireless, and Firewall networking including; Cisco, HP, Meraki, Sonicwall, Ruckus, and Barracuda
- Planning and implementing end-user virtual solutions including Remote Desktop Services (RDS), AVD, and VMware Horizon View
The ideal candidate must have experience with
- Performing strategic technology assessments including data gathering, analysis, and recommendations.
- Aligning organization technology goals with business requirements
- Troubleshooting network and system issues
- Security best practices system hardening
- Experience in Incident Response
- Working with clients in different vertical markets
- Interfacing with other 3rd party vendors, i.e., hardware, software and service providers
- Working individually and as part of a team
- Interfacing with clients remotely, over the phone, and on-site
- Developing product and solution recommendations for deliverables and presales opportunities
- Budgeting and time estimation
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Experience 5 years +
- Certifications: Microsoft, VMware, storage, and networking
- A verbal and written technical assessment is given to potential candidates that must be passed

- Maintaining of professional certifications and obtaining new certifications
