Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced Cloud Migration Engineer Role to join one of our client companies. The person selected for this job will lead a project to upgrade their Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. It needs to be migrated to the Azure DevOps cloud environment, Server 2022.

Apparently, this is not a trivial undertaking and could be complex, especially if their current TFS version predates TFS 2015 as only 2015 and 2019 are supported for upgrade. So, it looks to have missed at least two stages. As an expert migration engineer, you will plan, design, develop, and maintain the data architecture, data models, and standards for the Data Integration & Migration to Azure Cloud.

As the lead Migration Engineer, you’ll use your extensive technical expertise to migrate content, including mailbox data, binary document content, web content, and other proprietary content formats to the destination. You’ll evaluate and remediate issues and use PowerShell scripting skills to implement TFS migration upgradation tasks.

With your drive to establish processes and lead technological innovation, you are expected to make a lasting impact on our client company. That said, the candidate should demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, the ability to thrive in a pressure environment, and possess excellent communication skills.

Also, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work effectively in dynamic conditions and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology as its major coursework.
  • Experience in Data Migration from Visual Studio TFS to Azure cloud server 2022 (Highly preferred)

  • Excellent record as a team member.
  • Flexibility with supporting mission-critical, 24×7 projects.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities of the Desired Cloud Migration Engineer:

  • Works closely with executives and other departmental team members to understand their business, capture requirements, identify pain areas, accordingly, and propose a feasible solution.
  • Extracts, loads, transforms, cleans, and validates data.
  • Leverages ETL or ELT to build scalable data pipelines.
  • Uses DevOps tools and orchestration tools to automate pipeline execution.
  • Supports current state analysis and works with enterprise architects to build target state architecture.
