Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a Cloud Migration Engineer (AWS to Azure) role for one of our valued clients. The Cloud Migration Engineer will be responsible for handling and improving the architecture and delivery of the core AWS to Azure Migration projects. They are expected to deliver excellent cloud management using their hands-on experience with scaling AWS and Azure technologies.
The project entails a comprehensive evaluation, advisory, and strategic planning process for transitioning the client’s existing AWS infrastructure seamlessly to Azure. Crippled with minimal expertise in AWS and limited bandwidth due to existing commitments, the client seeks an adept professional capable of navigating the intricacies of AWS networking, DNS management, VPN configurations, and related domains.
As the project progresses, the scope expands from migration tasks to the identification and resolution of emerging challenges. So, the requirements necessitate a multifaceted skill set to address evolving remediation and troubleshooting needs. You should also have a holistic understanding of network optimization, security considerations, and seamless integration methodologies. Also, this position requires an emphasis on clear communication and collaborative problem-solving skills. Lastly, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who can work effectively in dynamic conditions and within deadlines. That said, the preferred candidate should expect to work 40 hours per week and should be flexible enough to work part-time hours as well.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Expertise in all five pillars of Cloud Architecture Design- Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization.
- Expert in Architecture, design, provisioning, implementation, and delivery of scalable Azure solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of AWS networking, including VPC, subnetting, and routing.
- Proficiency in managing DNS configurations i.e. setting up records and resolving issues.
- Strong background in VPN setup and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Azure networking principles and services.
- Experience in deploying domain controllers in cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Private DNS resolver implementation for internal resource resolution.
- Proven track record in troubleshooting network issues.
- Ability to conduct thorough health checks on network components to ensure optimal performance.
- Analytical mindset for addressing network-related challenges effectively.
- Skilled in optimizing DNS configurations.
- Proficient in facilitating communication between cloud environments for seamless operations.
- Expertise in evaluating network performance metrics.
- Comprehensive understanding of network security principles.
Responsibilities of the Desired Cloud Engineer (AWS & Azure):
- Hands-on delivery of enterprise AWS-to-AZURE Migration solutions.
- Review/manage technical requirements and functional business requirements to establish new cloud platforms.
- Configure AWS networking components to optimize performance and ensure scalability.
- Assess DNS setup between Azure and AWS, identifying potential bottlenecks and recommending improvements.
- Guide on designing and configuring DNS setups to align with organizational requirements.
- Implement a Private DNS resolver to facilitate efficient resolution of internal resources.
- Perform thorough health checks on all network items to identify and address any potential issues.
- Investigate/troubleshoot VPN issues between Azure and AWS to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
- Deploy/manage domain controllers in cloud environments.
- Address network flapping issues through comprehensive troubleshooting strategies.
- Establish robust communication channels between Azure and AWS for seamless data exchange.
- Design DNS solutions to optimize performance and reliability across environments.
- Evaluate network performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular security audits and implement security measures.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing network configurations.
- Proactively maintain network stability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of network infrastructure with business objectives and requirements.
