Windows Management Experts (WME) is looking for a motivated & experienced full-time Cisco UCCX/Finesse Architect Role for one of our valued clients. They are looking specifically for UCCX scripting help with the possibility of finesse configuration/setup of additional users.
As the lead engineer, you will provide subject matter expertise around UCCX/Finesse environment. You will provide project management for the deployment of infrastructure projects and act as the primary vendor interface and tier-three support for telephony technologies provided and supported by vendors. You’ll also troubleshoot and resolve operational outages.
The UCCX architect – Cisco CUCM / UCCX will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting communication-related technologies including IP Telephony platforms, Gateways, Session Border Controllers, and VoIP Networking Infrastructure. Their specific details are given below:
Their Environment:
All cisco related servers are virtual. VMware CUCM version: 14.0.1.11900-132
They also have cisco hardware (cubes) that terminate sip traffic for their SIP vendor and to CUCM and other sip endpoints as well:
- 2 Cube ISR4431
- IOS Version: 16.09.04
- Phones (Cisco 79XX series & Cisco 88XX series); Headsets (predominantly those buying cisco 560’)
- Analog Gateways:
- VG350’s- VG350-SPE150/K9 – About 10 of these. Version 15.6(3)M5
- VG450’s – On shelf ready to replace the vg350s
- Several smaller VG’s (202, 204, 224, 320) about 15 total.
That said, you must have strong expertise in configuring, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting ACLs, S2S VPNs, BGP connections, IPsec, routing, optimizing/tuning, etc. in multi-context mode, and all Cisco-related problems.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Network Security, Electrical Engineering, or Network Architecture as its major coursework.
- At least 5+ years of experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
- Cisco Unified Attendant Console (CUAC): installation, upgrade, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Creates Powerful Integrated Directory Services on Cisco UCM Series.
- Understanding and Troubleshooting CUCM Database Replication
- Understanding CUCM Licensing and Smart Licensing.
- Understanding of CUCM Certificates and Procedures to Regenerate
- Troubleshooting CUCM Security – CTL/ITL
- IPv6 Configuration and Capabilities in CUCM
- Thorough understanding of QOS with emphasis on VoIP, SIP, and TCP/IP networking.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN and firewall policies
- Strong knowledge of CTI desktop integration and Quality Monitoring tools
- Current technical experience and expertise with VoIP infrastructure, including telephony capacity metrics, SIP and CTI messaging, and vendor support
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) certification (Preferred)
- Willingness to work part-time hours to support urgent upgrades/patches/etc. and rotating.
- Experience working with outside vendors for additional support.
- Expertise in Data Loss Prevention and Access Management.
- Proficiency with Networking & working with the availability of network ranges.

- Excellent communication skills with a special focus on listening to accurately assess & document stakeholders’ needs and business use cases.

Responsibilities of the Desired Cisco UCCX/Finesse Architect Engineer:
- Plans, designs, develops, and implements infrastructure technologies including Networking Architecture, Databases, and PSTN gateways on Cisco CUCM / UCCX IP platforms.
- Provides project management for the deployment of infrastructure projects, as well as acts as the primary vendor interface and tier-three support for applications and technologies provided and supported by vendors.
- Implements technology and infrastructure changes for platforms, performance, and scoring.
- Analyzes system response and determines tuning recommendations to improve performance.
- Identifies and resolves problems and serves as the focal point for infrastructure-related issues’ resolution.
- Ensures all the operational and engineering knowledge is shared with the team.
- Designs and implements configuration changes on behalf of our customers, following the accepted change management process.
- Works with the Datacenter Engineers and Security teams to add routes, troubleshoot complex networking issues, and make recommendations on configurations, etc.
- Leads technical meetings and discussions.
- Collaborates with other Operations Centre engineers and 3rd Party vendors for issues of networking and security outside of Cisco technologies. For example, Check Point.
- Ensure timely resolution of problems and maintains effective documentation.
- Provides Service Managers with technical support during customer escalations.
