Windows Management Experts (WME) is seeking a motivated & experienced Checkpoint Engineer Role for one of our valued clients. The responsibilities of the Checkpoint engineer will be to promote a positive security culture for the organization by protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and assets while assisting the company to successfully meet its strategic goals.

This will be a part-time remote role of managing a Checkpoint Macro Project. The selected candidate should expect to work 20 hours per week. The desired resource will develop application prototypes and design IT infrastructure components to meet our business and technical requirements.

The candidate will be monitoring Checkpoint Firewall logs and creating rules based on traffic seen in logs. That said, the candidate will ensure multiple networks communicate effectively with one another according to a predefined security policy.

The IT infrastructure of our client company includes systems, middleware, databases, storage, and network infrastructure. The engineer must demonstrate a sound ability to efficiently code, test & certify technology platforms, software, and applications. In fact, the selected resource will be a part of a larger technical team that is supposed to work in active collaboration to solve complex problems for the organization.

Lastly, WME is looking for some exceptional communication & interpersonal skills in our new team member. The candidate’s toolbox must be complete and diverse. From being technically savvy to displaying a vigorous passion for learning beyond their traditional areas of expertise, the resource must prove to be an asset to the company.

Must-Have Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience with Checkpoint Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of Experience managing security in the cloud (AWS, Azure)

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with Computer Science, Network Security, or Network Architecture as its major coursework.
  • Strong Checkpoint Firewall Architecture & GUI experience.
  • Strong skills in Security and Information Event Management (SIEM)
  • Cisco CCNA (CCNP Preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with protocols such as RIP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, VRRP, and WCCP.
  • Expertise in Data Loss Prevention and Access Management.
  • Proficiency with Networking & working with the availability of network ranges.
  • Proficiency with implementing TCP/UDP protocols and port numbers.
  • Strong knowledge of concepts like Anti-spoofing, NAT & types, IPSEC Protocols, security zones, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a special focus on listening to accurately assess & document stakeholders’ needs and business use cases.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Expert-level documentation skills.
  • Sound conversational and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities of the Desired Saviynt Expert:

  • Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert on Checkpoint Engineering.
  • Troubleshoots problems and debugs applications and IT infrastructure components.
  • Recommends enhancements for stable Checkpoint operations.
  • Maintains LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, email security, web protocols, and server architecture.
  • Evaluates & reports our firewall policy and administration.
  • Creates firewall rules & objects.
  • Creates and maintains virus detection systems, web proxies and enterprise email.
  • Produces design documentation for ad hoc access requests.
  • Installs and manages network security devices.
  • Maintains and patches systems, software, and applications to eliminate bugs and security vulnerabilities.
  • Review logs & performs filtering.
  • Support others in performing forensic analysis and risk assessment for the entire infrastructure.
  • Leads technical meetings and discussions.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents stakeholder needs and defines a feasible security plan.
