Position Title: DevOps Analyst II

Location: Hurst, TX

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Data Center Operations

JOB SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Aerospace Corporate infrastructure team as an DevOps Analyst II.  Aerospace Corporate is looking for individuals interested in pursuing rewarding and challenging opportunities.  We are looking for a talented candidate that can effectively support Aerospace Corporate ’s current Hybrid Cloud Operations initiatives around DevOps, automation, and orchestration.

The DevOps Analyst II role will be primarily responsible for the modernization of our approach to deploying and managing workloads in our public and private cloud environments.  This role will own the design, implementation, and support of the DevOps tools and processes.  Issues with technology happen, so having a predictable, simple, and efficient problem and issue management system (people, process, and tools) will also be a key focus for this role.

The DevOps Analyst II role will take on responsibility and ownership of the key vendor relationships, budget, road mapping, performance, and delivery of the DevOps experience of Aerospace Corporate and business unit IT Professionals who consume our shared services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of the Aerospace Corporate  DevOps service offerings for Azure, to expand to other hyper-scalers and on-premises VMWare private cloud environments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for operational readiness
  • Lead DevOps, automation, and orchestration initiatives as the architect responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting solutions
  • Partner with and support the IT Professionals from Corporate and other business units who consume our IaaS/PaaS/on-premises infrastructure services
  • Assist the Data Center Operations Team Lead and architecture team responsible for designing and implementing server, storage, and cloud solutions
  • Process end-user requests for system provisioning/deprovisioning and modifying resources, permissions, granting access, provisioning/reclaiming licenses and other requests for cloud workloads
  • Cross-train with other team members in day-to-day team operations
  • Enforce standards for system architecture in close collaboration with application owners, developers, users, and stakeholders.
  • Implement solutions in keeping with long-term strategic plan for infrastructure system management and platform maturity, including automation through scripting and coding, virtualization, business continuity/disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and document processes and procedures to be used by all responsible parties in system deployment, maintenance, and administration activities in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and recommended practices.
  • Direct and audit third-party support activities for adherence to company policies, procedures, and architecture standards.
  • Plan and coordinate upgrades, migrations, refreshes, etc. projects and initiatives.
  • Perform incident response, troubleshooting, and remediation activities during outages or periods of performance degradation.
  • Assist and backup the infrastructure team members in midrange or other infrastructure areas, such as network, servers, storage, backup, and other needs.
  • Participate in change management processes for planned activities that might impact midrange system availability or performance.
  • Participate in the acquisition of hardware, software, and equipment for end users
  • Solve complex technical issues with limited supervision
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years in IT industry specifically in system administration and/or pertinent technical certifications are preferred.
  • The candidate must be willing to work unusual hours and occasional overtime.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • PowerShell and/or comparable scripting.
  • Azure IaaS architecture and/or operational support experience required.
  • Terraform, Ansible, Chef/Puppet management experience preferred.
  • Experience with a Git-style code repository preferred, Azure DevOps a plus.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written are required.
  • The candidate must possess good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to dynamic business needs
